The symposium Vetnia by Elanco ‘Animal health and professional well-being. Cheek to cheek’, organized by Elanco Animal Healthwill take place from November 20 to 21 in different locations in Madrid.

In this professional meeting, Elanco offers not only specialization training in veterinary medicinecontributing to the development of professionals, but also provides advice and relevant information to help the veterinarian in caring for their well-being.

With the concept “Cheek to Cheek”, inspired by the song from the movie “Top Hat” performed by Fred Astaire and Ginger RogersElanco wants to symbolize the vision that the veterinary profession demands maintain a rhythm and balance that allows the responsibilities of veterinarians to be reconciled with their professional well-being.

“The veterinary profession is very vocational and goes beyond ensuring the health of animals. Assume this Responsibility means facing daily challenges which, although they are rewarding, can complicate the work and affect the well-being of veterinarians, as demonstrated by several surveys on the work stress of our group. At Elanco, we want to help professionals improve the balance between work and well-being. To do this, it is essential to have not only technical knowledge but also tools that help maintain this harmony. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE IN ANIMAL HEALTH AND PROFESSIONAL WELFARE

With this perspective, the symposium will address two areashe professional technical knowledgewith conferences and workshops given by specialists in feline medicine, parasitology, dermatology, orthopedics and internal medicine; and the professional well-beingwith tips and tools to improve well-being, offered by experts in assertive communication, mental health and work stress.

Scientific conferences and workshops will be led by experts such as Luis ChamberlainDVM, clinical director of Hospital VetOeiras, IVC Evidensia Group, Lisbon; ESVOT member, co-founder of the Interest Group in Veterinary Traumatology and Orthopedics (GITOV) of APMVEAC.

Likewise, they will participate Philip of VincentBachelor of Veterinary Medicine, PhD, FHEA, CertVBM, Dip. ECVS, European specialist in Surgery and clinical director Hospital Veterinario Veterios, Madrid; Jaume Fatjódirector of Vetbonds, doctor in Veterinary Medicine, from the Department of Psychiatry and Legal Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona; as well as Mar Felixspeaker and communication trainer, expert in leadership in veterinary clinics and in veterinary cardiology service.

Among the speakers are also Lluis FerrerDVM, PhD, Dip ECVD, dermatologist at Hospital Clínic Veterinari-UAB and professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona; Elena Garciagraduate in Veterinary Medicine and Master in Applied Ethology from the UAB, collaborator of the Affinity Animals and Health Foundation Chair at the Autonomous University of Barcelona; and Pablo GomezDVM, professor at the University of Zaragoza and veterinarian at VetCorner.

They will also be speakers Guadalupe MiroDVM, PhD, Dipl. EVPC, professor of the Department of Animal Health, Infectious and Parasitic Consultation, of the Veterinary Clinical Hospital, UCM and director of the PetParasiteLab of the UCM; Iolanda Navalongraduate in Veterinary Medicine, ECVIM-CA cardiology diploma, AVEPA cardiology accredited and head of Cardiology Service Hospital Veterinari Canis; as well as Diego NovoaDVM, specialist in Traumatology, responsible for the Traumatology service at the Montjuic Veterinary Hospital.

Other experts will be Marisa PalmeroDVM, specialist in Endoscopy and CMI (SpecEaMIS), accredited in Feline Medicine AVEPA, General Practitioner Certificate in Feline Practice ISVPS, and Clinical Director Hospital Veterinario Gattos; Margot RuizDVM, head of the Traumatology service at the Mediterranean Veterinary Hospital Evidensia; and Carlos VichDVM, graduated from the ESAVS (European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies) in dermatology, and founder of the Dermovet Veterinary Dermatology service, Barcelona.

This symposium is part of the Vetnia programcreated and promoted by Elanco whose main objectives are to support the importance of the veterinary profession in society, promote the knowledge, training and health of professionals, promote the growth of veterinary clinics and provide effective and safe solutions for care of the patients.

Within the Vetnia program, the VitaVet initiative offers support to the veterinary community, providing practical advice aimed at improving professional well-being. The content of these recommendations is supported by scientific data and has been prepared with the collaboration of renowned experts in the field of health, well-being, communication and mindfulness.
